While we were sitting on the back porch, Rich commented on how noisy it was: A/C units running, pool pumps, lawnmowers, etc - the absolute quiet is one thing that'll bring us back to In-The-Woods. Thanks for a GREAT week!

Questions in order of popularity:

Q.  Hi. I will be traveling through GA in May; I wanted to know if I need to be a member to stay at your facilities while on my trip?

A:  Like most clothing optional gay campgrounds, one must be a member to visit or stay overnight.  This keeps us as a private club.

Q: How old do I have to be to become a member at ...in the woods?

A.  19
Rules for 19-20 yr olds:
NO DRINKING/DRUGS ALLOWED if caught drinking/drugs keys will be taken from you.  Police will be called.  NO EXCEPTIONS.  We do not condone under age drinking of any nature.  We want you to have a place you can go to and have fun, but not at our expense.

Q: Are there any discounts for college students?

A. Special pricing for college students with picture id:  $5.00 day passes. You can also purchase a complete summer long day pass from May 1 to September 1 for $100.00. Overnight rates vary and excludes share the weekend with a friend discounts.  no other discounts taken for college students.

Q: Do you have any seasonal day passes

A. Yes, you may find current rates on Promomotions page

Q: Are you wheelchair accessible?

  • The outhouse itself is 4feet by 5feet.
  • The outside shower has a 4 foot wide opening and a 7 inch step up.

Q: Do only "bears" come here?  Do I have to be a bear?

A.  Absolutely not.  The name is  ...in the woods.  It is NOT Bears in the woods.  I guess it would be like Jellystone Campgrounds.  Do only Bears go there or Jellies, for that matter.  Everyone is welcome.

Q: How much is the membership?

A: $10.00 Per Year

Q: Do you allow women?

A: Yes - I recently had a discussion on this issue. Here are my views.
I don't believe anyone can choose their sexual orientation anymore than one can choose their sex, gender, or eye color. If we are gay, we are gay - it doesn't matter if you are male or female - we are all in this together. It is silly that a community that strives for recognition and tolerance in the "straight" world can be so narrow-minded and intolerant in their own sub-culture. People are people - either you like them or you don't; it is that simple. I suspect for the people you don't like you just stay shy of them, no more than going to a bar where everyone is welcomed and someone may be there with whom you don't see eye to eye. All we request is that every treat each other with the same respect that they desire.

Q: Next question: Are there a lot of women at your campground?

A: No, but they will not be turned away if they choose to come.

Q: I have never gone camping before. What do I need to take with me?

A: Here is a partial list of things to take:

  • Personal items
    • socks / shoes
    • sweater or sweatshirt (check weather)
    • 2 bath towels
    • 1 beach towel
    • 1 jacket or raincoat (check weather)

Q: Is your facility clothing optional?

    Actual Email -Hi guys,

I had heard that "in the woods" was a nude resort (what we are looking for) or at least clothing optional. But the pool pictures on your site show everyone dressed? Please clarify. thanks. and looking to visit soon.

A: Yes, we are a clothing optional campground. However, because these photos can be seen by anyone on the web, (and it is not allowed on our server) We do not show frontal nudity, nor an over abundance of nudity. I know that kids surf the web and we will not show anything that is less than tasteful. I hope this explains why there are no explicit nude photos on the web, but rest assured- it is clothing optional.
